SAMA
THE INNOVATIVE APPROACH
OF THE PROJECT
Strong Aquatic Mind Approach (SAMA) is based on the notion that “Mental health state reflects the emotional, psychological, and social well-being; it affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, thoughts, relate to others, and make healthy choices”.
We will design a state-of-the-art model offering a comprehensive solution for addressing mental health issues in aquatic athletes.
Implementing SAMA model will eventually impact all essential elements of a sport system bringing change and positive effects in athletes.
More specifically, SAMA targets to increase:
→ quality of coaching (empowering sport Professionals)
→ mental toughness of athletes (empowering Athletes)
→ the monitoring mechanisms of sport managers (empowering Leaders)
→ awareness of parents on the topic (empowering the Family-Environment)
